Adopted Boston Terriers

PictureName
Enzo / June 2010
Enzo is a BIG boy who was turned into AZBTR because he was not getting along with his Boxer brother. He is brindle and white, 37 lbs. and very very very strong. He could use a little bit of a doggie diet but he is just a big boy in general. He is energetic and wants to love you and bring you his toys. A happy happy boy who needs some training too. He will be a great companion to someone who is looking for one of those "bigger bostons". Enzo has been placed with a family with boston experience and no other dogs. They fell in love with Enzo at our last adoption event and decided to give him a forever home!
Lucy / June 2010
Lucy is a 2-3 year old female that came to us from animal control. She had some pretty severe injuries from what seemed to be a dog attack. Lucy is one of the sweetest girls we've ever had in rescue. She is very well behaved and quiet. She loves to suck on her blankie, so plenty of blankies is a must. She is pretty much healed up at this point and ready to be loved in her new home. She has a beautiful coat and is about 26 lbs I think, she is a stocky girl, definitely not petite. All who have met Lucy have fallen in love with her. She will do well with other dogs and as an only dog as she is not overly playful and prefers to cuddle with her people or her blankets.
Annie - Senior 7 / June 2010
Abby (formerly Annie) is one of the Senior 7 that were brought into AZBTR. She is very young looking for 11, not even a speck of gray on her fact (wish I knew her secret!). She is a very happy girl with a mild cherry eye in one eye. It is not bothering her and it's not bothering us, so we decided that nothing needed to be done for it at this time. She is in foster care and doing very well with her foster sisters. She is learning how to play with toys, and she loves meal time and treats. Abby likes sunbathing, resting on the sofa, and sleeping on her dog bed. She is learning how to cuddle and will reach her toes out to touch her foster mom when she wants to be petted. Abby’s nickname is “bunnykins” because she bounces around the house like a rabbit. Annie's family is the same family that adopted Beau from AZBTR. They were so impressed with Beau that they came back and adopted his sister Annie also! We are happy these two are together. Annie gets to sleep with her very own human every night now!
Leslie-Belle - Senior 7 / June 2010
Leslie Belle came to AZBTR as one of the Senior 7. She is not really a senior at only 8 years old! Leslie Belle is a "splash boston" and on the tiny side. She is very cute and sweet and loves to cuddle. She is crate trained and loves to gather her toys in her crate before bedtime. She does need some brushing up on her potty training. "Belle" has been placed in a home where she has her new mom all to herself. She is a very loving little girl and loves to cuddle. She has been attending training classes and learning to be a proper BT lady. We are very happy for Belle and her new mom!
Lindsay now "Keeva" / June 2010
Lindsay was found as a stray in the Mesa area by a good samaritan and turned into AZBTR. AZBTR was unsuccessful in finding her owners so it is time for little Lindsay to find a new forever home. She is a sweet little girl who is housebroken and learning to play with her foster BT sister and brother. We think she must have been an only dog in her previous home. "Keeva" has been placed in a home where she is the only dog. We hear she is being spoiled rotten and is the queen of the castle!
Beau - Senior 7 / May 2010
Beau was the last BT to come out of his kennel when he was rescued, but he was the first of the Senior 7 to be adopted. Beau is a loving, sweet, happy boy and he loves toys! He collected all of the toys in his foster house and kept them in his bed. His favorite toys are those that are designed for large dogs; when he has a super-sized stuffed toy in his mouth, he parades around the house like a king. Beau loves to ride in the car, he enjoys going for walks, and he really likes people. Beau has been adopted by a wonderful family in the east valley. Beau’s new family fell in love with him the moment they saw him and he is a very lucky BT. In his new home, Beau receives all the love he could ever need and many, many treats. Each member of his new family spends quality time with him to let him know how happy they are to have him in their home. His new canine sister is a large Boxer mix who loves to share her toys and play tug of war with him. After a long day of playing, eating, and tug of war, Beau gets to snuggle in bed with his new parents (and snore).
Missy now "Sugar" / May 2010
Missy was turned into AZBTR when her owner passed away. She is only 3.5 years old but has some premature graying around her eyes. She is a small, cute little Boston. Missy is a really sweet pup. She loves the other dogs and is very playful. She is curious about cats and will chase them if they run. Missy is obsessed with stuffed animals and will destroy those that aren't sturdy. She will dart out of the door if not careful. Missy also gets along well with both adults and children and loves to sleep in bed at night. She is constantly under foot but does fine while in the crate. She also seems to do fine in the car and rides in the back seat. "Sugar" has been placed with a gentleman from the west valley who has had bostons his whole life. He plans to do a lot of RV traveling with Sugar by his side. We are very pleased with this placement and wish them both many happy travels together.
Sissy / May 2010
Sissy was turned into AZBTR with her sister Jasmine when her owner could no longer care for them due to losing her home. Sissy is an adorable splash boston. Sissy is located in the Tucson area right now. She is very sweet and gets along with other dogs, cats and children. Sissy has been placed with an approved family in Tucson. They absolutely adore her and she will be loved and spoiled in her new home!
Jasmine / May 2010
Jasmine is a 12 yr old girl who came into rescue with her sister Sissy. Jasmine is a sweet old lady who just wants to live out her life on someone's lap. She is pretty spry for her age however. She gets along with other dogs, cats and children. She will make a wonderful companion in a quiet household. **Update** We are sad to annouce that sweet Jasmine has been diagnosed with cancer. A very loving, compassionate family in Tucson was planning to adopt Jasmine prior to her diagnosis. Her illness did not change anything and they have taken her into their home to care for her and love her until it is her time to leave us.
Braxton now "Mosby" / May 2010
Braxton is a 5-6 month old male BT puppy who was turned into AZBTR by a BT breeder who had experienced some tragic family events and could not afford to get his cherry eye fixed. Braxton has only been with us a couple of days and he getting along well with the dogs in his foster home. He is on the bigger side but still very much a puppy. After his neuter and cherry eye surgery, Braxton was placed in an approved home where he will get the love and patience he deserves. His new family is committed to working with him to bring him to his full BT potential.
Zane / May 2010
Zane is a beautiful 2-3 year old BT boy who was found as a stray and turned into the county. He was released to AZBTR because his left eye was damaged and had to be removed. When we got Zane we realized that he had been attacked by dogs and was seriously underweight. Zane has made a speedy recovery from his injuries and surgery, and he has put on some weight (approximate weight is 22 lbs). He has a beautiful coat and no known allergies. Very handsome boy. Zane has been adopted by a Scottsdale couple with no other pets. He is being spoiled rotten and is loving his very posh lifestyle. He is very happy and obviously very loved in his new home.
Charlie / May 2010
Charlie is an 11 month old neutered male Boston Terrier puppy whose owner was recently injured and can no longer care for him. He is black and white and weighs in at around 20-25 lbs. He also has a tail that's a little on the longer side for a Boston Terrier. He has no known allergies. He’s a little timid right now but is quickly opening up. He is a very calm but loving dog. He gets along well with other dogs, but could also be the only dog in a home because of how calm he is. Charlie is more than happy to lay down by you at any time and just relax. He is housetrained and does not bark frequently. He's also ok with being in a kennel or pen. He had knee surgery on both back legs as a pup and he's got a little bit of a limp in his back right leg, but it doesn't appear to slow him down at all. He still runs around and plays with other dogs without problem. Overall he is a very low-key dog that is happy all the time, whether he's relaxing or playing. Charlie went home with an approved adopter at our last picnic. He is being a good boy in his new home!
Ziggy now "Ozzie" / May 2010
Ziggy is a 2-3 yr old male "splash" boston terrier that was found as a stray in Scottsdale. AZBTR has made every attempt to find his owners with no luck. As you can see his markings are quite unique. On the side of his body you cannot see he has two black spots. Ziggy has one blue and and one brown eye. He is a sweet boy who is fond of children and the other dogs in his foster home. He likes to sleep with the four year old little boy in his foster home. He is very loving and cuddly and will give lots of kisses. Ziggy must go to a home with no cats, he likes them but not in a good way. AZBTR has only had two other splash bostons in the past 5 years, so they are pretty rare. Ziggy was placed in a very boston savy home in the west valley. He is the only BT in his home for now but enjoys spending time with his humans and meeting all the kids in the neighborhood!
Ruby Dee now "Mini" / April 2010
Ruby Dee was turned into AZBTR when her owner had to relocated for his job. Ruby Dee is a tiny 6 month old brindle and white spayed female. She is very shy but sweet. She has been placed with a former adopter in our "Foster to Adopt" program and shares her new mom and dad with her rescue BT brother Cooper. We have only had good reports on little Mini and her puppy side has really come out since she has been in her new home!
Tiki / April 2010
Tiki is a 7-8 yr old spayed female that was surrendered to AZBTR when her elderly family could no longer care for her. Tiki is very sweet and spry for her age. We can tell she has been very spoiled in the past and is quite the little princess. She has been placed with a retired couple in Tucson who has no other pets and plenty of time to spoil her in the manner she is used to.
Mama / April 2010
Mama was being held at the Tucson Humane Society as a stray. She was in really rough shape when our wonderful volunteer Pam went to pick her up but got her into shape very quickly. Mama is a delightful & anxious to please, happy little 8-9 yr year old gal who is very deserving of a lot of TLC. She looks a lot older than she is and she had us all fooled. She is QUITE spry for her age. Mama has obviously had several litters of pups & is a loose skined, wrinkled ole lady with several obvious moles. One her ears flops over and we are not sure if it was broken or she had a bad infection at one time. She has some scaring on her back where it looks like she tried to crawl under something. She is our "beautiful mess" and so sweet despite her obvious hard life on the streets. Mama has found her forever home up in northern AZ. A very special family contacted us specifically about Mama and she is fitting into their pack just fine. They understand her needs and wants and are working with her. Her allergies are much improved since moving up north. Mama now has a forever home with a very special family. She shares her human family with two rescued boxer mixes and a BT rescue named Gidget. We could not be happier for Mama. This is the family she truly deserves!
Mojo / April 2010
Mojo is a 2-3 year old Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix who was surrendered to AZBTR from the AZ Humane Society when he was not deemed suitable for adoption. He was turned in to us with allergies and was a scabby, smelly mess. Dispite his less than attractive condition it was love at first sight for his foster mom and he is already in his forever home. His allergies have greatly improved and he is on a special diet. He shares his new mom and dad with Lab brother, Buddy, and BT brothers Ozzie and Brownie (another AZBTR rescue).
Hardy now "Little Bean" / March 2010
After wandering around an apartment complex for several days, Hardy was picked up by a good samaritan and taken to a nearby animal hospital. They contacted AZBTR right away. We tried to find Hardy's owners but had no luck. Hardy came to us very thin and with some minor boo-boos. He was 10 lbs when we got him but has already started gaining weight and will be strong enough to be neutered soon. He is brindle and white and we were told he is about 3 yrs old. He gets along fine with the other BT in the home. He seems to be housebroken and knows a couple of simple commands such as Sit and Lay Down. He also goes through doggie doors. Although a very small BT, Hardy more than makes up for it with his personality, loyalty, and friendship. He is a very playful dog who loves chew toys, and any other toy imaginable. He is very affectionate and caring as well. Although there are no children in the foster home, he has been around them and appears to be just fine with them. One look at his little face and you can't help but smile.
Rex / March 2010
Rex was turned into AZBTR after a second baby came to the family. The family dynamics changed and Rex was not a happy camper. Rex is a sweet 6 yr old neutered boy. His foster family fell worked on him with his issues and were very patient with him and Rex now feels safe and secure with his new family. They decided to make their home is forever home and we couldn't be more pleased.
Annie / March 2010
Annie is a 9 month spayed female boston terrier who was turned into AZBTR when her mom and dad went into an assisted living facility which did not allow pets. She is a sweet girl in need of obedience training. She is VERY smart and picked up using the doggie door at her foster home. She is well socialized and just adorable. She has been placed in an approved home and her new mom just loves her! They will be starting obedience classes soon!
Georgia now "Bella" / March 2010
Georgia is a 1-2 year old female brindle and white Boston Terrier that was found wandering a remote area of South Gilbert. Her finders attempted to find her owners for weeks with no luck. Georgia has two cherry eyes that will need surgery and she will be spayed at that time also. She is a young girl that is full of energy, about 20 lbs. She gets along well with other dogs and wants to play all the time. We will have a picture of Georgia after her surgery.
Halo now "Patty" / March 2010
Halo is a 10 week old puppy who was surrendered to AZBTR because the other BT in the family was not adjusting well to the new puppy. Halo is a red and white female. She is in a foster to adopt home and her new mom just adores her. Halo is now "Patty" and her adoption will be final when she is old enough to be spayed. Until then she is being cuddled and loved by her new mom.
Nacho now "Norman" / February 2010
Nacho is a 7 year old neutered male who was turned into AZBTR because his owners could no longer afford to care for him. Nacho has some mild allergy issues that we think we can control with diet. Nacho is an easy going boy who is very "bully" looking. There may be some Frenchie in there too! Nacho now "Norman" was adopted by the special couple who have adopted from AZBTR previously. They now have two AZBTR rescues and we are thrilled that both Norman and Bella (previously Bubbles) are being loved and spoiled in their new home.
Carter / February 2010
"Carter" is a beautiful 2 yr old neutered male that was on the euthanasia list at the shelter for "fear in kennel". Well who wouldn't be?!?! Once we picked him up and got him to his foster home we did notice he was kind of untrusting of people but LOVED the other dogs in his foster home. I could almost see him smile when he saw Tiger and Tootsie (Bostons) come towards him. He was very scared the first night but by the next day he was already allowing himself to be petted and was taking treats from his foster mom. Each day he feels a bit more confident. He will need some time and patience in his new home. He has beautiful markings and his little tooth sticks out on one side a bit (we call it his snaggle tooth). Gives him kind of an Elvis look we think. Carter has been placed with a new family and they love him. He is more confident every day and now greets his dad after work and naps on the couch with his head on his mom's knee. We received an update that he is even being friendly to strangers at the park!! From the euthansia list to a happy new life with a wonderful family... a very very happy ending for a dog that certainly deserved a second chance.
Jake Donaldson / February 2010
Jake was turned over to AZBTR by Chino Valley Animal Hospital. He was turned in to be euthanized because he had started having mild seizures. Chino Valley staff just couldn't do it, he was such a wonderful boy. Since he's been on his medication, one pill a day with dinner, he's not had any such episodes and is a DARLING senior boy. Jake is 12 years old and a sweet old man who needs a loving home to live out the rest of his days. He is in pretty good health for such an old boy, he is neutered and housebroken. Jake has been adopted by a wonderful woman is Scottsdale who said Jake is "her baby" and he has found a very very loving forever home. Jake's new mom is familiar with rescue and he share's his new home with a rescued pitbull sister and rescued male Lab/Poodle mix brother. The new pack has adjusted nicely and Jake is enjoying playing with his new siblings and his mom. She will continue to monitor his seizures.
Trixie / February 2010
Trixie is one of the sadder stories we've come up against. "Trixie" is a 5-6 yr old female BT, about 15 lbs, who was found by a cat rescue group abandoned in a home with a bunch of cats. Someone had been feeding them but you could just imagine the conditions she was living in. She is a smart, spunky little girl and acts very young for her age. She has been bred previously. Her foster family says she's quite the princess and they just adore her. Trixie has found her forever home with a special family who has previously adopted from AZBTR. In 2005 they adopted a little BT/Chi mix girl named Heidi who had a heart condition. They loved her and cared for her until she passed away late last year. They contacted us recently and were ready to open their hearts to another rescue girl. Trixie has a very loving home in Casa Grand where she is sure to be extremely spoiled.
Blue / February 2010
Blue is a striking neutered male boston terrier puppy with light blue eyes. He has very intersting markings. He is a smaller BT at about 14 lbs. Blue came to us from Pima County Animal Control with a pro-lapsed rectum. Blue has since undergone surgery to correct this and is doing just fine. His foster mom reports that he is about 90% housebroken. He is still very much a puppy so he will need some obedience training as well. He LOVES to play and is getting along very well with the other dogs in the home. Blues foster mom could not part with Blue's baby-blues...who can blame her? Blue shares his new mom and dad with rescue BT brother Arthur and Sammy the Chi.
Dodge / February 2010
Dodge is a 2-3 year old male Boston Terrier that was found running near a busy freeway in Mesa and picked up by a good samaritan who called AZBTR right away. He is lucky to be alive. He had no collar on and no microchip. After over a week of trying to find his owners he became the legal property of AZBTR. Dodge is very friendly boy who just wants someone to love. He adores to play tug. He is in a foster home with no other dogs right now so we are not sure if he plays nice with others. He was just neutered and is available for adoption unless his foster dad has already fallen under that "love me forever" spell that all BT's seems to have.
Grim now "Remy" / February 2010
Grim is a very handsome 13 month old neutered male Boston Terrier that was turned into AZBTR because his owner was allergic. Grim is very much still a puppy and has a lot of energy. He needs some obedience training and probably a brush up on housebreaking but other than that he is a normal 13 mth old BT. He would make a great addition to any family willing to work with a dog who is still in the puppy stage. Get's along well with other dogs and likes kids. Not sure about cats. He will want to sleep in bed with you! He is also crate trained. Grim's foster mom fell under his cuteness spell and couldn't bear to part with such an adorable little man. He shares his new home and mom with BT sister "Lola" and gets to have sleep overs with rescue BT Dodge!
Arthur / January 2010
Arthur was turned into AZBTR when his family was forced to move in with family and had to give up their pets. AZBTR was glad we could help. Arthur is currently in a foster to adopt home in Tucson. He is a very dashing older man at about 10 yrs. His foster mom and dedicated AZBTR volunteer loves him more every day and he has found a new forever home with a wonderful family.
Scoobers now "Elvis" / January 2010
Scoobers is a 3 yr old male who was turned into AZBTR when his owners decided they no longer were going to breed Boston Terriers. He has very nice markings and is a very sweet boy, although a bit on the shy side, probably due to lack of socialization since he was a breeder dog. His foster mom reports that each day he gets a little more confident and now he just jumps up on the couch next to them for cuddles. He gets along fine with other dogs but cats are unknown. He was previously in a home with children above the age of 5. Scoobers has been placed in a wonderful home where he will be spoiled and loved forever. His new mom and dad have renamed him "Elvis".
Casey now "KC" / January 2010
**ADOPTED** KC is a young neutered male who was turned into us because his owners were having trouble with marking issues. KC gets along with other dogs, cats and even small animals. KC has been placed in a "Foster to Adopt" home with the family who adopted Tex in 2007. Since living with Tex and his family, KC has learned the joys of horse poop! KC and Tex are just great buddies and KC is very happy in his new home and his new family loves him. I got to visit with them recently and KC's favorite hobby is to chase lizards. Both KC and Tex look very very happy and spoiled.
