"Hi, Vicki, Brewster is now in his forever home with his new family. Everything went very well. I really do appreciate your placing Brewster on your website. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't be where he is right now.
I cannot thank you enough for your help with Brewster's adoption into his new forever home. If there is any way that I may be able to help AZBT in the future, please let me know. I will let the other people who were interested in Brewster know that he was adopted, and possibly see if there is any way I can assist them in finding another Boston from AZBT, or a little one from the shelter.
Thank you again so much! Kris"

ADOPTED Donut is a 7 year old, 20 lb., female Boston Terrier. She is AKC registered, spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is healthy with no history of illness besides the occasional case of swimmer's ear (Donut LOVES to swim) she is also doggy door trained. Donut is very affectionate and loves to give kisses. If you don't want to be licked, this is not the dog for you. She loves to snuggle after a long day. She is trained to sit, shake, and give high-fives. Donut is nicknamed "Houdini" for her ability to open doors, especially ones with lever door handles. She can and will open any door not equipped with round knobs/childproofing. This is the reason we have to find her a new, loving home. She lets kids out of the house along with her. She is a very sweet, loving and intelligent Boston Terrier! Please contact us if you would like to learn more about Donut. Posted 5:16 AM by Ana | Wednesday, June 30, 2010 4th of July safety tips for your pets!
Be responsible pet owners and make sure your pets are safe over the holiday weekend! To protect your pet on the Fourth of July, please take these precautions: -
Resist the urge to take your pet to fireworks displays. Between the heat, the crowds and the noise it’s just not a good idea and will probably not be fun for your pet. -
Do not leave your pet in the car. With only hot air to breathe inside a car, your pet can suffer serious health effects—even death—in a few short minutes. Partially opened windows do not provide sufficient air, but they do provide an opportunity for your pet to be stolen. -
Keep your pets indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area. Some animals can become destructive when frightened, so be sure that you've removed any items that your pet could destroy or that would be harmful to your pet if chewed. Leave a television or radio playing at normal volume to keep him company while you're attending Fourth of July picnics, parades, and other celebrations. -
If you know that your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises like thunder, consult with your veterinarian before July 4th for ways to help alleviate the fear and anxiety he or she will experience during fireworks displays. -
Never leave pets outside unattended, even in a fenced yard or on a chain. In their fear, pets who normally wouldn't leave the yard may escape and become lost, or become entangled in their chain, risking injury or death. During the summer months Boston Terriers should not be left outside for long period of time ever. -
Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags so that if they do become lost, they can be returned promptly. An updated ID tag is the fastest way your pet will be returned to you. I can’t stress enough the importance of ID tags. Animals found running at-large with no identification should be taken to the nearest veterinary clinic to be scanned for a microchip (this is free). If no microchip is found they should be taken to the local animal shelter, where they will have the best chance of being reunited with their owners. -
BBQ time! Never leave alcoholic drinks unattended where pets can reach them. Alcoholic beverages have the potential to poison pets. If ingested, the animal could become very intoxicated and weak, severely depressed or could go into a coma. Death from respiratory failure is also a possibility in severe cases. Also be careful with things like discarded toothpicks and paper plates with yummy food leftovers. Let your friends and family know if your pet has any dietary restrictions before Fido ends up getting a little something off of everyone’s plate… who can resist those pleading eyes? -
Do not put glow jewelry on your pets, or allow them to play with it. Yeah they look cute, but while the luminescent substance contained in these products is not highly toxic, excessive drooling and gastrointestinal irritation could still result from ingestions, and intestinal blockage could occur from swallowing large pieces of the plastic containers. Not so cute… Let’s all have a safe and happy 4th of July!! Posted 10:14 AM by Ana | | Older Entries |
