AZBT Rescue to Benefit from Helping Udders
We’re happy to announce that you can now help Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue by making
purchases from the online pet store www.helpingudders.com.
Helping Udders sells cool pet products, and between 10 and 50 percent of the proceeds
from those go to rescue groups, including ours. See the logo on the sidebar.
It was a Boston Terrier that started it all. Boston Petey led Mikel Miller, a Wichita
woman, to create a dog toy from milking-machine parts, and to start an online business.
When her son brought home Petey, a stray, in 2000, "I thought he was the ugliest
little dog I'd ever seen," Miller said. "I didn't know any Boston terriers at that
time. But once we got to know him, he became the center of our life."

Miller started taking the Udder Tugs to agility competitions and selling them to
other dog owners. Then, in January 2004, she launched a Web site, HelpingUdders.com,
and started selling the toys online. From the beginning, Miller wanted to give part
of the profits of her business to animal rescue groups. When a customer buys an
Udder Tug 25 percent of the price goes to a rescue group of their choosing. So far,
the company has sent more than $34,000 to animal rescue groups.
As a personal testimonial, my Boston Baxter loves his Udder Tug. Miller also offers
a line of cute t-shirts (some of them featuring great vintage photos of Bostons).
Be sure to check out the Fun with Petey and Tony page.
