Seven year old Bowser was taken in as an owner surrender after he had lost 20% of his weight over 1 year.  Additionally, he is an "allergy dog" that had been on a long-term course of Apoquel.  The owner's vet had ruled out valley fever as a reason for the weight loss and all of his bloodwork came back "normal".  After several trips to our vet it was determined after a TAMU panel that the cause of Bowser's unexplained weight loss is a case of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  After switching him to prescription dog food (hydrolized protein), Bowser has gained weight and is generally healthy.  Bowser's chronic allergies have been addressed with injections and prednisone.  **An adoptive family would need to be able to maintain his ongoing medications (allergy injections and prescription dog food).**  In return, Bowser is a very cute and loving boy with a lot of love to give back.  He is crate trained and housebroken.  Bowser would do well with older children as he jumps up and knocks over toddlers.  He is somewhat reactive to other dogs, **so we have determined that he needs to be placed in a home with no other dogs**.  Can you help this deserving and sweet boy?
