Piper is a 12 year old tiny little lady who has lost her sight to cataracts. Piper came into rescue after she became depressed and lethargic without her lifelong friend who went over the rainbow bridge last September. Piper loves belly rubs, having soft conversations while petting, to explore grass, and to go for rides to the park in her stroller. Piper gets along with other dogs and cats. She does take a little extra time and effort to let her learn her surroundings and help protect her, but she will repay your efforts with snuggles and a quiet presence.

Piper is very easy to care for. She is housebroken, gets around well once she knows her surroundings, and is happy to interact. She does sleep a lot, like all older dogs. We have found her one requirement to thrive is that she has food available for slow grazing at all times. Sometimes she nibbles intermittently all day, sometimes she eats her whole day's worth of food in one go but she doesn't do as well with "scheduled" meal times as when her dry food is always available to her.

If you have a somewhat quiet and predictable household where Piper can have a dish down all day, she might be your best snuggle buddy!
