Come share in the fun and frenzy with the Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue at our spring picnic fundraising event! There will be refreshments, photo opportunities, raffle prizes*, and undoubtedly tons of Boston Terrier tomfoolery! Coalition for All Breed Rescue Vaccination Clinics are held every other month beginning in January. The next CABRA Microchip and Vaccination Clinic will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015. Services: Microchips Distemper/parvo, bordatella and rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Time: 9:00am-2:00pm
Where: University of Arizona Maricopa Co. Cooperative Extension, 4341 E. Broadway in Phoenix.

Walk of Honor- A Salute to Veterans

The Walk of Honor is a FREE activity for all guests of Woofstock to participate in. The walk is available the entire length of the event.
A special feature of the Walk of Honor is the SPOT THE SERVICE DOG CONTEST. Participants will walk the course and look for various service dogs on signs and write their names down on the form. The contest runs from 9am to 1pm. The contest winner will be announced at 1pm. For all rules and contest sheets, guests will visit the American Service Animal Society Booth on event day.
The American Service Animal Society is looking for sponsors of the Spot the Service Dog signs. Anyone interested can contact Gerad Classman, the American Service Animal Society at 480-802-9339.
All money raised through the walk will help to get veterans guide dogs.
Featured Activities and Demonstrations
Blazin’ K9’s
The Blazin' K9s Flyball Racing Team was formed in 2008 in Chandler, AZ.
They are a small group of people who love their dogs and enjoy the excitement of the sport of Flyball.
DEMO AT EVENT: Competitive flyball racing with teams from Arizona, California and New Mexico. Flyball racing is a high energy dog sport in which a team of 4 dogs jump over 4 jumps to a springloaded "flyball" box, catch the ball in their mouth and run back over the four jumps. The next dog passes into the dog returning until all 4 dogs have returned successfully. They are racing another team in the other lane. The fastest team wins the heat! It has also been called "drag racing" for dogs.
Brittany Rescue: Lure Course
Brittany Rescue AZ is a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to rescuing, rehoming and providing a senior sanctuary to purebred Brittanys, Brittany mixes and other sporting breed dogs.
Indy’s Run for Rescue, operated by Brittany Rescue AZ is a fast-paced, fun chase sport for dogs otherwise known as a “lure course”. The mechanically operated “lure” entices a dog to follow a plastic bag tied to a string. The course consists of agility obstacles which the dog negotiates during its chase. Indy’s Run for Rescue is fun and entertaining for dogs and their owners. Big or small, fast or slow, young or mature dogs love to test their chase skills and their owners love to cheer them on. Indy’s Run for Rescue is operated as a fund raiser to help the dogs in rescue and to raise money for other worthy causes such as canine valley fever.
DEMO AT EVENT: Dog owners will be encouraging their dogs, of all ages and sizes, to test their chase skills at Indy’s Run for Rescue. The cost is $6 for one run, $15 for 3 runs with all proceeds benefitting the Brittany Rescue.
Good Dog Agility
Good Dog Agility Club of Chandler/Mesa has been a non-profit club for over 25 years. They offer classes in agility from beginner (includes puppies of 9 months of age) through Master level. Good Dog Agility host 3 major agility trials per year-January, February & November. They love promoting their club through demos and Woofstock has been their leading supporter for at least 4 years.
DEMO AT EVENT: This year the public will not only get to see them run their dogs on the agility course, but they will be lowering all the equipment & the public will get to try the course for a donation that will go to FRIENDS FOR LIFE. You will keep your pet on the leash to go through the whole course. Good Dog volunteers will be helping owners & pets with the equipment. They are hoping this will be a more enjoyable experience for both human & pet.
Dog Elite Training
Neal Mestas is the son of John Mestas, the founder and owner of Dog Training Elite. Like his father, Neal has been involved in dog training most of his life. Neal got his first shot at dog training when he was eight years old. He participated at a Junior Obedience competition and placed second! Thirty years later, Neal is at the top of his game! It’s fair to say that this has become a genuine passion of his. He loves going to work every day, and gets joy out of helping families make their dogs just that…a member of their family, rather than a hassle that they have to cope with in their home. He offers personalized in home dog training, as well as group classes that are available to help you train your pet.
The level and type of training Neal offers is specialized to fit each person’s specific needs. Each owner has the choice of what type of training, commands, and obedience they wish to have for their dog. Neal’s assistant, and beloved family pet, is a Belgian Malinois named Bailey. Neal rescued Bailey when she was 8 months old, and has been a part of the Mestas’ family for a year and a half. Neal, is eager to go to work every day in hopes of increasing the pet owner’s quality of life, and I think Bailey would agree that it increases the quality of the dog’s life as well! Neal and Bailey are eager and honored to come to your home and help solve all of your “Doggie Do’s & Don’ts”!
DEMO AT EVENT: This year, we have added a fun experience for our dog owners. Neal will be doing live training demonstrations throughout the day, including basic and advanced obedience and tricks with his dog Bailey. He will be doing two fun and interactive workshops for you and your best four-legged friend. Bring your dog to his booth for the workshops** to learn some new tricks!
Workshop 1**- Teach your dog new tricks like play dead, roller over & more at 10:30am
Workshop 2**- Teach your dog how to catch a Frisbee at 12:30pm
**Please bring your own treats for the tricks workshop and your own Frisbee for the Frisbee workshop**

Arizona Canine Musical Freestylers
Our membership spans the state of Arizona and is open to all who want to learn to dance with their dogs in a positive environment. They will have several routines to demo from various dance teams. Make sure to stop by the stage, you do not want to miss these dancing dogs!
UpLift San Tan Foothills High School
UpLift is San Tan Foothills High School’s premier Dance Company. Consisting of sophomores, juniors, and seniors, UpLift performs at many assemblies, showcases, and events around the community. The company is under the direction of STF’s Dance Director Tiffany Jones, but company members have also created works for UpLift. The goal of UpLift is to inspire and arouse through the power of Dance.

The Walk of Honor is a FREE activity for all guests of Woofstock to participate in. The walk is available the entire length of the event.
A special feature of the Walk of Honor is the SPOT THE SERVICE DOG CONTEST. Participants will walk the course and look for various service dogs on signs and write their names down on the form. The contest runs from 9am to 1pm. The contest winner will be announced at 1pm. For all rules and contest sheets, guests will visit the American Service Animal Society Booth on event day.
The American Service Animal Society is looking for sponsors of the Spot the Service Dog signs. Anyone interested can contact Gerad Claseman, the American Service Animal Society at 480-802-9339.
All money raised will help provide no cost service dog training and certification to veterans.
Featured Activities and Demonstrations
Blazin’ K9’s
The Blazin' K9s Flyball Racing Team was formed in 2008 in Chandler, AZ.
They are a small group of people who love their dogs and enjoy the excitement of the sport of Flyball.
DEMO AT EVENT: Competitive flyball racing with teams from Arizona, California and New Mexico. Flyball racing is a high energy dog sport in which a team of 4 dogs jump over 4 jumps to a springloaded "flyball" box, catch the ball in their mouth and run back over the four jumps. The next dog passes into the dog returning until all 4 dogs have returned successfully. They are racing another team in the other lane. The fastest team wins the heat! It has also been called "drag racing" for dogs.
Indy’s Run for Rescue
Indy’s Run for Rescue, operated by Brittany Rescue AZ, is a fast-paced, fun chase sport for dogs otherwise known as a “lure course”. Dog owners love to cheer on their dogs, of all ages and sizes, as they test their chase skills on the approximately 50 yard enclosed course.
Indy’s Run for Rescue is operated as a fund raiser to help the homeless dogs in rescue. The cost is $6 for one run, $15 for 3 runs with all proceeds benefitting Brittany Rescue.AZ.

The Dance Company at San Tan Foothills
The Dance Company at San Tan Foothills is comprised of all grade levels 9-12th. Students not only learn works from their Director Tiffany White, but create their own choreography that they set on their peers. You can catch the Company performing at their school’s events as well as at many local venues.

Ducks for humanity is a way to raise money for community nonprofits that are committed to the community by advocating and helping animal welfare, children with disabilities, environmental issues, homelessness and diversity.
Make a $5 donation to AZBTR with the comment “for the Ducks” and we will register and enter a Duck in your name to the race. The Race will happen in the pool at the Holiday Inn Phoenix – West 1500 N. 51st Ave. You don’t have to be present to win, but we encourage you to participate in the event by visiting our vendor’s booths and cheering on your ducky(s) across the finish line. The first duck to make it across the finish line wins a $500 prize! Other prizes will be offered for 2nd, 3rd and 4th winners as well.
The Holiday Inn Phoenix – West will also be participating by offering drink and food specials in their Coyote Grill.

Ducks for Humanity is continually seeking interested individuals, organizations and Companies who want to sponsor the event with either in-kind services or monetary donations. The benefits of being sponsor range from logo recognition and announcements during the event to name and/or logo recognition on flyers, posters, websites, Social Media, press releases and much more. Are you interested in volunteering? We have a great opportunity for anyone who needs community service hours or just wants to help out a great event. Volunteer opportunities range from helping set up vendor booths and assisting guests with event information. Volunteers can only be taken for ages 18 and older.

Doggie Street Festival

AZBTR will be attending the Doggie Street Festival for the third year in a row! Come on out and enjoy the day with your pet at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix. There will be vendors selling fantastic dog accessories as well as rescues with adoptable dogs.
Doggie Street Festival
Inspired by the creator’s experience with her beloved golden retriever Scout, the event has a mixture of breed-specific and mixed-breed rescue groups with dogs of various breeds and sizes. Any Rat Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding homes for rats, will also take part.
During last year's festival, families adopted 88 rescue dogs . New owners and their pets were invited onstage to celebrate the new additions and draw attention to the importance of adoption.
Pet owners can browse products and services from pet sitters, boarding facilities, groomers, stores, photographers, hospitals, hospice facilities, food companies, dental care companies, treat companies and clothing and accessory providers. Many of the vendors will give away free treats.
Dirk and his pooch Maverick will give a performance showcasing Maverick’s reading and math skills, a DJ will play mellow, pet-friendly music and there will be a children’s art area.
